Refunds and cancellation

The proposed cancellation, withdrawal and refund policy for Garage Plus.

Version 2026-10-21-draft.1Last updated
Draft for review. This document is being reviewed before launch.

Review draft — not yet effective. This document describes the proposed terms for the planned service. Production signup, paid subscriptions and the operational commitments below require launch verification and approval. Reading this draft does not enter you into a subscription.

This policy concerns Garage Plus digital subscriptions purchased from TINY TORQUE, LLC for My Garage. It does not govern physical models, shop subscriptions, shipping or other purchases at tinytorque.com. Contact support@tinytorque.com for help. Our published address is 21 Chestnut Street, Quincy, MA 02169, United States.

The protections below are our proposed worldwide minimum policy. Any stronger rights under applicable law take priority. No “no refunds” rule, usage threshold or deadline in this policy removes a mandatory remedy.

1. No-card trial

The 30-day Plus trial is free, available once per eligible verified account holder and requires no card. It ends by returning your account to Free. It does not automatically start a paid subscription or create a refundable charge. Purchasing Plus is a separate, affirmative checkout decision.

2. Stop the next renewal

When paid billing is released, use Settings → Billing and plan → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription. You can also send a clear cancellation request to support@tinytorque.com. We accept a request through either route; you do not have to telephone, complete a survey, negotiate with us or provide a reason.

For ordinary cancellation, renewal stops and Plus continues through the paid period shown in your confirmation. Send the request before the next charge is initiated to prevent that charge. There is no requirement to give several days’ advance notice. If a charge occurs after a timely cancellation, we correct it and refund it.

We use the time your online request or email reaches us, not the time staff finishes processing it. We will provide confirmation showing the effective cancellation date, end of Plus access and whether any refund applies. If you cannot sign in, email us; we will use proportionate verification and will not make access problems an obstacle to stopping charges.

3. Full refund within 14 days of a charge

You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days after the first paid charge or any monthly or annual renewal charge. No reason is required. Normal use during those 14 days does not disqualify you, and we do not deduct a service-use or processing fee. This is a voluntary worldwide guarantee in addition to statutory withdrawal rights.

A request saying you want an immediate cancellation, withdrawal or refund within this window ends the paid subscription and refunds the affected charge, including related tax. Plus ends when immediate cancellation is applied; your collection remains under Free’s lossless downgrade rules. A request that only stops future renewal leaves prepaid access in place and does not by itself request a refund.

The window applies to the affected charge. It does not automatically refund every earlier billing period. A trial does not consume this paid-charge guarantee, and nothing here shortens a statutory period that starts later or is extended because required information was not supplied.

4. Annual subscriptions after 14 days

After the full-refund window, an annual subscriber may choose either to stop renewal and keep Plus until the end of the year, or to end Plus early and receive a proportional refund for the unused part of the prepaid year. State that you want early cancellation and the unused-time refund, or select that option when available.

The service-fee refund is the service fee actually paid for the current annual period, after any discount and excluding separately itemized tax, multiplied by the unused portion of that period. We calculate from the effective early-cancellation time to the recorded paid-period end, divide by the full paid-period duration and round to the nearest currency minor unit. We also refund attributable tax; if your price included tax, the proportional refund already includes that tax and it is not added twice. Previous credits or refunds for the same time are accounted for once.

For example, if exactly half of a US$34.99 annual service period remains, the service-fee refund is US$17.50, plus attributable tax. We do not reprice the used months at the higher monthly rate or add an early-termination fee. The effective time is when we receive your request, unless you ask for a later date.

5. Monthly subscriptions after 14 days

After the full-refund window, ordinary monthly cancellation stops future renewal and preserves Plus until the current month ends. We do not ordinarily refund the remaining days merely because you stop using the service. We still provide refunds or other remedies for incorrect charges, unavailable or defective service, our material adverse changes and any other circumstances required by law.

If you request immediate account deletion, we explain its effect on access and apply any refund you are entitled to. Deletion is not conditional on surrendering a refund or withdrawing a dispute.

6. Cooling-off and withdrawal rights

Consumers in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom generally have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right for an online service contract, subject to applicable rules and any longer period required where information was missing. Other countries may provide similar or stronger rights. Our paid-charge guarantee does not replace those rights.

My Garage is an ongoing digital service. We do not treat opening the app, signing in or clicking a download-style waiver as automatic loss of a service withdrawal right. Where required, we ask separately for an express request to start paid service during the cooling-off period. Under this policy we do not deduct a proportional usage amount from a timely 14-day refund, even where law might permit a deduction.

You can withdraw by sending an unambiguous statement to support@tinytorque.com or the postal address above. When billing launches, the online “Withdraw from subscription” function will also accept and confirm withdrawal. Sending a valid notice before the applicable deadline is sufficient; you do not need to wait for approval. The optional model statement below is convenient, not compulsory.

Optional withdrawal statement: “To TINY TORQUE, LLC, support@tinytorque.com, 21 Chestnut Street, Quincy, MA 02169, United States: I give notice that I withdraw from my Garage Plus service contract.” Include your name, account email, contract or charge date if known, address and date of notice. Add your signature only if submitting on paper. Do not include full card details.

7. Incorrect charges, outages and defective service

Contact us about duplicate charges, charges after an effective cancellation or charges you did not authorize. We investigate and correct billing errors; the voluntary 14-day window is not a deadline for reporting a legally refundable error.

If a service problem substantially prevents use of a core paid feature, we will work to restore conformity within a reasonable time. If the problem is serious, cannot reasonably be fixed, recurs, or is not fixed as required by law, you may have the right to a price reduction, cancellation, refund or compensation. We do not force a service credit instead of a monetary remedy you are entitled to.

As an additional service commitment, if a fault in our service or its providers prevents you from accessing your garage or an essential paid feature for 24 consecutive hours, you may request a proportional monetary refund for the affected time. We use the actual price paid and period duration. Shorter interruptions can still qualify for a legal remedy; the 24-hour threshold limits only this additional commitment. Ordinary problems with your own device or internet connection are not an outage of our service.

If we permanently discontinue paid service or materially remove a paid feature without an equivalent remedy, we refund unused prepaid time and address any additional rights under law. Report a problem as soon as practical so we can investigate; we impose no special short deadline on mandatory claims.

8. Australian consumer guarantees

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including requirements concerning due care and skill and applicable fitness for purpose. A major failure may entitle you to cancel the service, receive a refund for the unused part and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a non-major failure, you may require it to be remedied within a reasonable time; if that does not happen, further remedies may apply. You may also be entitled to compensation for a reduction in value. These rights are independent of our voluntary refund windows.

9. Request handling and payment of refunds

Email support@tinytorque.com from the account email if possible. Include enough information to identify the charge and whether you want to keep access until period-end or end it now. A charge receipt or invoice identifier helps; a missing receipt does not defeat a claim we can otherwise verify. Never send your full payment card number or security code.

We aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and initiate eligible refunds within five business days. We will reimburse a valid statutory withdrawal without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after notice, or sooner where applicable law requires. Internal review does not restart a legal deadline.

Refunds go to the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another lawful method without extra cost. Bank posting times vary; our confirmation states the amount, affected period and date initiated. We do not deduct Stripe processing fees. Your bank’s exchange-rate differences or independent fees may affect the amount it displays; we remain responsible for any amount the law requires us to return. If a refund has not appeared after ten business days from our confirmation, contact us for tracing.

10. Your collection after cancellation

Ending Plus changes plan entitlements, not ownership of your data. Existing copies, groups, photos and history are not deleted or hidden merely because they exceed Free limits. You can continue to read, edit, export and remove existing records. New copies, groups or uploads that would exceed a Free limit are paused.

Canceling a subscription does not delete your account. Request deletion separately through the available account controls or support@tinytorque.com. Before deletion, you can request an export. Deletion ends account access and stops future subscription renewals; limited financial and legal records may remain as explained in the Privacy Policy. Uninstalling an app, signing out or deleting a bookmark does not cancel a subscription.

11. Abuse, disputes and appeals

We may investigate evidence of fraud or repeated deliberate refund abuse and may restrict future trial or subscription eligibility where lawful. Ordinary service use, a first refund request, a complaint or a good-faith payment dispute is not abuse. We will explain any refusal and permit review. Abuse controls never remove a mandatory refund or consumer right.

You may contact your payment provider or a regulator and use any available legal remedy. You are not required to waive a chargeback to ask us for help. If a charge is already disputed, we may need to resolve it through the payment provider to avoid refunding the same charge twice; we will explain the status and will not use that process to defeat a statutory right.

Appeal a decision by replying to our response or emailing support@tinytorque.com. If multiple remedies cover the same amount or period, we provide the most favorable applicable remedy without double repayment of the same loss.
